Phillmar Corporation, een Amerikaans bedrijf gaat een voedselfabriek op Bonaire vestigen. De investering die hiermee gemoeid is, bedraagt 18,5 miljoen dollar. Het bedrijf gaat opereren onder de naam Audarie Gourmet Foods en de producten die geproduceerd worden zijn bestemd voor de export en zijn onder meer hot sauces, salad dressings en vinaigrettes. Op Bonaire zullen de grondstoffen worden verwerkt, verpakt en gexebxporteerd.
Op Bonaire zal Audarie Foods 226 personen in dienst nemen en maandelijks zullen er tussen de 3,3 en 4,1 miljoen producten geproduceerd worden. Naast extra arbeidsplaatsen die gecrexeberd worden op het eiland, zullen ook de havenactiviteiten toenemen.
De voedselfabriek is een frontrunner in het nieuwe tijdperk van Bonaire en zal dienen om een andere soort industrie aan te trekken en zorgen voor een diversificatie van de economie.Solliciteren kan nog. Klik op deze site voor een overzicht van de vacatures.

Geweldig, die werkgelegenheid! Kunnen we goed gebruiken. Maar……Hoeveel stroom gaat deze fabriek nodig hebben en kan het WEB dat leveren of gaan er alleen maar meer stroomstoringen komen?
En hoeveel afval gaat deze fabriek produceren en wat gebeurt er met dat afval?
Ik heb vernomen dat er helemaal geen voedselfabiek komt. Het zaakje klopt niet. De mensen die hebben gesolliciteerd hebben nooit meer iets gehoord. Ook zijn de advertenties van de site van Ban Boneiru Bek afgehaald.

Dat heb ik ook gehoord. Er zou helemaal geen fabriek komen! Ik begrijp er niets van..
Lijkt me helemaal geen goed plan.
Moet je eerst alle grondstoffen en verpakkingsmaterialen naar Bonaire verschepen en daarna het produkt weer verschepen naar het vasteland.
Daar komt ook nog eens de vervuiling bij die zo’n fabriek oplevert en als (zoals wij ook geregeld in de supermarkten e.d. merken) schepen niet op tijd kunnen lossen (en dit dan dus ook met laden) stagneert de aanvoer en de afvoer. Daar wordt Phillmar Corporation helemaal niet blij van.
En wat die werkgelegenheid betreft dan moet je waarschijnlijk denken aan 180 baantjes voor laaggeschoold personeel met een minimaal inkomen (want zo’n bedrijf gaat niet op Bonaire beginnen om de Bonaireanen er beter op te laten worden) en misschien 20 betere banen waarvoor men dan misschien 5 lokale krachten vindt en men er weer 15 van het vasteland moet aantrekken.

You should not discuss or give your opinion about a subject you are not familiar with! Seek correct information before spreading hearsays (gossips and rumors).
In the published article dated August 17, 2011, you could clearly read that detailed information will be released to the general public AFTER a formal meeting with the local government (is this too much for you to understand, or are those remarks just a reflection of your mental capacity?).
Donx92t be so negative about your own island. Are you trying to convince the world that Bonaire should never make any progress? Or that Bonaire and its citizens are not intelligent and capable enough to handle any large project?

The whole complex will be powered by its own power plant (3 x LPG Generators)and 15% by sun panels.
The only ‘afval’ in large quantity will be carton materials (packing materials) and used wooden pallets. All these ‘afval’ will be packed in 40′ containers and shipped to foreign recycling brokers.
This project is 4 years in the making and all aspects has been assessed. This project represent a “Clean Factory”.. no chemical waste, no smoke stack, no x91explosive materials’, etc..
Again, as mentioned, please hold all comments until further details are released to the general public.
First of all, there’s nothing in the article about a “formal meeting with the government”. Maybe you’re talking about an article published elsewhere?
Second, you should understand that people are concerned about where Bonaire is going because the island and its people are quite fragile as you know. Most people don’t want Bonaire to become an island like Aruba but are afraid this might happen.
So please don’t take this personal, these are just reactions based on justified concerns of bad experiences in the past (and actual experiences).
Who cares if people talk about your company in public spreading rumors? We all know that negative and positive publicity for a company eventually is good, right? It’s good people know/talk about your company because eventually it will make it easier for you to reach people to work for you.
Also, you’re talking about the people on this forum not to be so negative about Bonaire but maybe you should not be so negative about us by talking about our “mental capacity”. Nobody accused you of anything personally so why do you have to start humiliating people? Actually, I think your response says more about your own “emotional capacity”.
Anyway, the information you provided about your company sounds good. Many people can get a job there and it’s environmental friendly. Thanks for clearing that up and goodluck setting it up.
I think it is just wise to give your opinion and this weblog gives us the opportunity for it. Has nothing to do with gossip.
And let’s be honest don’t you think it is a waste of energy to first transport all materials to an island in the caribbean and then to transport it back to the mainland to sell it?
My opinion about that is that it makes the endproduct more expensive unless you cut your costs in another way and it this case most logic would be lower costs for labour.
But good luck with your new compagny and hopefully 226 local people will find a nice job with a decent salary.
